This gap is read per litre. The oil’s calorific value, estimated between 35 and 42 MJ/kg, is lower than that of diesel: the real advantage per megajoule is smaller than the advantage per litre. We write it here because your own calculation will show it.

What the product is, and what it is not

TKP-PYR-OIL pyrolysis oil is an industrial fuel intended for direct heat: kilns, boilers, burners, dryers. It is not an approved motor fuel. As it stands it complies neither with EN 590, which defines road diesel, nor with ISO 8217, which defines marine fuels. Its use in a vehicle engine is excluded.

Gensets — contact us, from Year 2. Use in a genset is possible in a blend, never neat, after a compatibility trial run or validated by the engine manufacturer, and with reinforced filtration. We do not offer it at start-up and we issue no warranty on an engine.

Food-industry cooking — two cumulative conditions. Combustion in a separate firebox, with no contact between flue gases and the food product, and a batch certificate of analysis establishing chlorine, sulphur and ash content. Failing both conditions, the use is not recommended.

Tests are not offered on vehicle engines or gensets. For an installation in contact with a food product, two prior conditions apply — see “What the product is, and what it is not”.

Status of the published characteristics

The plant is under construction. To date, no production has taken place and no laboratory analysis has been carried out on a TakaPlast product. The characteristics shown on this page are design values: they constitute neither a warranty nor a contractual specification.

The enforceable characteristic of a batch is the one recorded on its certificate of analysis, issued per batch from first production onwards. No delivery takes place without the certificate of analysis for the corresponding batch.

Pyrolysis gas: self-consumed on site, it heats the reactors and the thermal uses of the four lines. It is not in the catalogue — no reference, no price, no committable volume. A neighbouring industrial user may position itself through an agreement in principle, without volume or price, whose conversion into a contract is conditional on the site’s heat balance.
